The goal of this project is to make
encouragement an intentional practice.
It’s so easy that you might not think that you are doing enough. We suggest you try our suggestions for the first week or two and then feel free to email any other ideas for improvement to us.
Here is how it works:
- Make an initial list of 2-3 people who you think would benefit from encouragement of any kind.
- One time per day do something for one of them. If you so choose, enlarge your list of recipients.
- Choose something from the list of things to do or share your own successful tactics with the group.
- Download and print a copy of the awareness chart on the menu and keep it beside your bed. Notice what you have done – don’t worry about anything else. Make a note of reactions and stories from the people whom you encourage.
- Notice any changes in yourself.
- Ex. Since I have been doing this project, I notice people who need encouraging who are “under the radar” – the ones who look the most confident, the most secure, etc. Everyone needs it at times.
- Notice any outcomes, stories, inspiring things that happen as a result.
- Share your stories with us.
One more thing… don’t forget to sign up for a daily inspiration for yourself – these can start the day from a positive place and make all the difference.
